Quality and customer services has gone downhill

Last week i took 2 very expensive limited edition handbags ( 1,000.00 each ) for repair. i just got the email telling me that they could not repair them.

One bag is 3 years old and the edges cracked after a year . The other bag was replaced after a month because the edges starting splitting. The bag is a year old and received he same email.

When i called customer support they told me that there was nothing they could do about it.

She was very nasty and kept telling me that it was over a year old and that they would give me $40.00 to take them to a shoe repair store.

OMG, Coach Shoe Quality Has Plummeted!

10 years ago I bought the best pair of Coach shoes for about $99 bucks on sale. The fit and comfort level was astounding.

Speed up to November 2015, I just purchased a pair of Coach loafers and the Coach Patricia ankle booties and they both suck! My loafer is so wide on the sides that when I walk the sides bend and has an ugly gap and the back of the shoe slides off. The leather is very cheap, flimsy, and I see that Coach now has all of its items made in China "YIKES." The boot's leather does not have the same leather quality that Coach was known for years ago. The top of the boot feels like cardboard and the bottom of the shoes are no good.

I am returning these two Macy's and buying some Cole Hanns because I look at the shoe and tell that neither one will hold up for a month. Also, the sole od the shoes are no longer cushioned the the way they used to be.

I agree. I bought a pair of men's sneakers from Coach, and within 5 different times of wearing them, the sole started to come off like some cheap pair of tennis shoes that had been worn literally thousands of times. I spent the extra money for quality, and I got the opposite.

So many "go-to" name brands are now "made in China". It's so disappointing.

Especially when they grew their brand by making a high quality product from high quality materials and made in Italy or in the USA.

I have a Coach bag from the 80's or early 90's. This was back when they used HEAVY brass hardware and zippers. And the leather was thick and soft.

They were hand stitched with heavy grade thread and made in the USA. They didn't have to hide the low grade leather they use today by lining the bag with some cheap satin lining that would tear within a year. These bags had the suede side of the leather as the interior. This bag looks as good today as it did when I bought it.

I don't mind paying a high price for a quality product.

But I'm not paying a high price for "made in China" low grade products with a label.

Research the items before you buy. And ask questions.

Dear Troy Soccer families, Although a coach may have a class A license, it does not mean that this coach is a class act. You will hear all of the bells and whistles in the beginning. However, if things do not go in accordance with this directors schemes, YOUR CHILD WILL BE TARGETED AND ABUSED. Please from the get go talk to your children and band together as parents to stop this pattern of abuse. We tend to let the little things go trying not to make waves for our children to get playing time. I promise you in the end this director will stomp on your child in a heartbeat. I suggest anger management courses before the start of the new season.

Zan pumps

I purchased a pair of Zan pumps which I use only on flights as it has a comfortable 2.5 inch heel.

I have used this pump for maximum 5 times. The inner front lining started fraying on both sides of shoes. Because I bought it in 2014 I am screwed.

Even though Coach customer service gave me hope in running around in Manhattan to have the shoes evaluated, I have not been offered a replacement or option to have it fixed. The shoe is in excellent condition as confirmed by the salesperson at Coach. I took the shoe to a shoe cobbler who confirmed that the defect is the manufacturer's defect however it cannot be repaired.

Everything was explained to Coach.

Their customer service is useless.

Please be careful in any purchase of the Zan pumps.

I have other Coach pumps and purses, to date all seems in perfect order.

I received a Coach bag for Christmas and the hang tags were missing. After many emails and calls I received the wrong ones and was told we can't guarantee you the right ones . If they make the bag and you pay them for the bag. Why can't they send the right ones. I have several coach bags but will never buy again. A company that is supposed to be upstanding should have better customer service. Unhappy Former Coach Customer !

NO WARRANTY?!?!

I took a Coach wallet in for a zipper replacement and they said they are no longer supporting warranties, even on items that were purchased when they did have a warranty! ?They said this is their new policy as of 6 weeks ago. When I bought the wallet part of the deal was a warranty!

Why spend over a 100 dollars on a wallet, when you don't get a warranty, and a knockoff will do instead??

Wasn't their WHOLE THING that they make quality products that they stand behind? Is there no integrity anywhere any more? Coach without a warranty is so disappointing, sad and UNAMERICAN.

BOO!!! COACH!!! GOOD BYE FOREVER. YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR SOUL.

Just a little note...I work for coach and I don't know who gave you the idea we do not offer a warranty but we sure do. More information about the warranty can be found here: www.coachoutlet.com/repair-services.html Just in case you don't feel like clicking the link..."We offer a one year warranty on our handbags, briefcases and small leather goods.

For any manufacturing defects within this warranty time frame, repairs are on us.". This applies to both Coach and Coach Outlet.

I had to return a very nice tan with suede Coach bag due the striping coming off the handle and the bag was only a few months old. Instead of giving me a new bag, they sent it out for repair which is no problem. However, I waited 4 weeks and it came back dirty. I was told they would clean it up for me and thought after spending so much $ for the bag it would at least come back clean (the suede part was very dirty). I was very disappointed when I received my 3-month old bag back.

Never Again

I have owned and loved Coach bags for over 25 years. My bags all held up until the leather itself started to go. Construction was superb. Two years ago I got a new bag for Xmas and by Jan. the stitching in the straps was coming apart. I returned it to Macy's and they offered me a replacement but I paid an extra $100 for an upgrade. This one lasted a year and then last week the stitching holding the shoulder strap broke off. I am going to resurrect one of my worn out old bags, and I will not buy another Coach.

How I can clean my Coach bag

I bought that bag in Tanger Outlets in Lancaster PA. I was have a good dinner with my friend but by accident I sprayed orange juice inside my bag. Now my bag has smells and became orange inside. What I can do . Can I return to you to help me to clean it?It does not bother me that there would be some cost. Please help me a way to clean it. Hope you can repond me as soon as possible. This is very urgent that i really like the design of that handbag. Thank you very much.

Unacceptable customer service from a company that DOES NOT stand behind its products

Saved up for a year to purchase a Coach "candace" purse. This was a $400 purse. Within two years, one of the handle seams (at the base, where the handle attaches to the bag) ripped in a way that looks like it was sliced open. Coach sent my bag for repairs (I was without it for 7 weeks!) and when it was returned, they said that it couldn't be repaired, and returned it to me in the same condition. They gave me a 40% off coupon. Ugh. Didn't use the purse for 6 months (I think I was in a type of mourning) and then, when I went to use it again, I realized that the internal part of one of the handles had split apart. I dropped by a Coach store and was told, again, that there was nothing they could do, but that I could get a 40% discount on anything in the store. Really? I don't want any more of your *** products that you don't stand behind! I am on the phone with their customer service center now, and was told again, that I could get a 40% off coupon. What the ***? Eventually, they upped it to 50% but, really, the WHOLE point is why would I spend even one more penny in their store if they refuse to stand by their products? Final outcome: they are sending me a gift card for 1/2 the original price I paid for the purse. $200. I will treat myself to something that costs $199 and that will be the last interaction I have with a *** outfit like Coach. :(

You used it for two years... It's not made of diamonds and the fact they offered you a discount on another items means they do in fact, stand behind their product.

Wear a jacket or drive a car for two years and see what happens if something goes wrong...

You'd get nothing, *** MK won't do anything for you the second you walk out the door so grow up... Nothing lasts forever

On October 9, 2015 I received a similar letter from the Coach repairs department indicating that they could not repair a strap on a mens briefcase...a strap that Coach replaced several years earlier. They determined the minor repair "un-repairable"

In return, a 40% discount on a new bag was offered.

This offer is far from the Coach Values that were promised at the time of purchase. I was pleased with the product until customer service was needed.

It's sad that they have forgotten the importance of customer satisfaction. I suggest the readers of my comment strongly consider alternatives to Coach products.

Poor Customer Service

I ordered a purse for my mother for Christmas. I found out on Christmas Eve that the order had been canceled...in a very standard, nondescript "Order Status" email. An urgent email, phone call, text...anything would have been nice. Customer service (appeared to be overseas) offered nothing but a pitiful "I'm sorry." Said I couldn't talk to a manager because it was too early - even though it was within their published customer service hours. Nothing for my mother for Christmas as she is miles away in another state. Horrible. Horrible customer service!

Stunned by comments

I was stunned by the negative comments r/t the decline in Coach quality.

Clearly something has changed. I'm getting ready to send three bags that I've had for at least 40 years. My over used Dinky is showing its age on the seam. My classic clutch has a worn stitching on the strap and my super over-used saddle bag has a broken zipper. My newer (25-30 years old) bags, totes and 2 wallets have aged beautifully and remain gorgeous.

It is sad that Coach seems to have lost their focus, a quality product.
